Color Inspiration Thursday: Daydream

Daydream is a soft lavender-gray (or gray-lavender?). It’s one of my new colorways created this year, and I am currently editing photos and updating my website, so there will be some Daydream on the site by the end of next week.

I’m always mesmerized by Impressionist painters, most especially Monet. His use of soft lavender-gray and other shades of muted purple is masterful (which goes without saying), and entrancing: everything from fog, to shadows, the sky, stone, water. Take a look at his paintings and notice how he uses lavender to help create a mood or an impression. It’s amazing.

So, my tribute to Monet’s lavender-gray: Daydream.

  1. Beautiful colorway, you have done it again, Jen. Lavender is my favorite of favorite colors! I need to clone myself so I could knit more and still go to work to have the funds to buy yarn. LOL

  2. Where are you located? What a wonderful e mail! You should enter it in a contest! Vera

    • I feel exactly the same way! Most days I wish I had 4 arms and a Harry Potter time turner, so I could knit more! 😀

    • So glad you like it! It will be up on my site asap; I have it on Tayet and Verdande (it sold out on Sunna and Birte at MDSW, but I’ll be dyeing more asap!)
