Color Inspiration Thursday: Daffodil

“Daffodil” is a new colorway designed this Spring. I love daffodils, and have many of the yellow-orange variety blooming in the woods around my house. They’re always such a bright spot in the woods, blooming as Spring emerges from winter and the trees are barely green. I love them and wanted to translate their happy color onto yarn.

Something to knit with in the dark, gray days of winter, perhaps. And accessory to wear when one needs a vibrant spot of color. I can totally see a vibrant shawl knit in this colorway, over a black or gray coat or outfit (I love yellows with charcoal and black).

Simone of OwlCat Designs took a skein of this at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival and is designing a new shawl with it. I love her designs, and can’t wait to see what she makes! (Go check out her Instagram feed if you’d like to check it out, because I can’t figure out how to get a link to her photo to show up here! Technology-challenged this morning).
