I decided on a pattern for the three colors of Sunna I have to play with (Spectral, Black Cherry, and The Witching Hour). I could not get away from my love of the textures in the Anonymous Shawl by Verena Cohrs, so that’s the one I went with.
And I really love it so far!
I’ve finished the first two sections and am into the third section already. Of course, it gets wider as you knit, so I know it will go slower as I progress. But I’m actually okay with that, because I’m really enjoying the project and watching how the colors of Spectral shift and blend (although I’d really like to finish this in time to use it as a booth sample at MDSW).
Meanwhile, Shannon’s Tanks, Tops, & Tees KAL started yesterday. Last year’s TTTKAL was the first KAL I’d ever joined, and I had a great time. And successfully finished my Vivan top during the KAL, which was awesome. It’s a fun KAL, with some prizes from the sponsors (including a SQ of yarn from me 😀 ), and there’s still time to join, which you can do here.
While I have lots of projects I want to knit (many of which I’ve posted about here on my blog), I decided to choose one that’s been on my list for a couple of years, Elfe, and use some of the Sunna leftovers I have in my stash (these are mostly leftovers from booth samples, and I have so much I’d really like to use some of it).
My plan is to start with Dance the Orange (at left) at the top, moving my way down the red/oranges for the red stripes in the pattern photo (the others are Fresh Tomato, Spanish Tile, and Chipotle) and using Lambs Ear for the yellow stripes in the pattern photo. So it would end up with Lambs Ear at the bottom (more flattering, I think).
But I already have the Gola I knit in similar colors, so I’m also thinking about using some yellows, greens and blues instead (like I said, there are a lot of leftovers here that need to be used up!) like this:
Which do you think? One (top), two (middle), or three (bottom)?
I’ll definitely knit it shorter, because I don’t like sweaters that end at my butt like that (not flattering on me at all). And I’ll probably also do the tea length / ¾ length sleeve option, but I can decide that later.
I’m still planning to start one of those Sophisticated Knits I posted about. Honestly, I feel rather like a squirrel these days, darting from project to project. Once I start Elfe, I’ll have 4 on the needles, with is A LOT for me. And one of them is the reknit and pattern design of Jackson’s sweater, which I really want to finish so I can get it edited and test knit, and published asap. Sigh.
