Color Inspiration Thursday: Raku

PicMonkey Collage-4

Raku is a new speckled colorway I dyed just before the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. Starting with a soft celadon-green base, I layer on vibrant turquoise with hints of deep brown and green. I liked the result, but when I chose this color for the speckled portion of my JojiKnits Starting Point MKAL, I really fell in love.

photo is darker than in real life, but it was a dark day and I couldn’t get the colors quite right

Coupled with the South Pacific and Retro, it adds just the right amount of pizzazz to my wrap. What a color!

I’ll have a bit of Raku in my online shop update, which was supposed to be online by the end of May. Life has a way of messing with the best-laid plans, though, and I’m running late. Which is really stressing me out! I hate missing deadlines SO MUCH. But, it should be live by this coming Saturday, June 3!

This update will include lots of lace weight and fingering weight yarns in kits and separate skeins. Next up will be DK and Worsted!
