Maryland Sheep & Wool Here We Come! It’s Time for a Poll, for MDSW and Online!

Yes, MDSW is officially two months away, and I am in the midst of prep but also still at the beginning. That’s sort of an oxymoron, but for where I am at the moment it makes sense.

Polls are now closed! Thanks to everyone who voted, this was so helpful! Kay is the winner of the $25.00 gift certificate, and she’s been emailed directly.

Like last year, I’d love your input – and this goes both for MDSW as well as what goes into the online shop after the Festival. What doesn’t sell at MD will go into the shop when I get home, of course. But I’ll also be dyeing for regular online shop updates and would love to know what you’re all interested in now, and may foresee being interested in this summer.

more randomness, because what’s the fun of a blog post with no photos?

These polls will be open until March 15, at which time I’ll draw a random winner who’ll receive a $25.00 gift certificate in my online shop! Be sure to leave a comment with a way for me to contact you (Instagram handle or Ravelry username), as it doesn’t appear that PollDaddy willΒ let you include that info on the poll. (If you comment, I believe I’ll also get your email address if you use that to sign in, but leave another contact method just in case πŸ™‚ ).

(note: I wanted to leave this blank so you could write in your preferred yarn bases, but PollDaddy wouldn’t let me do that, so if the one(s) you’re most interested in isn’t listed, add it (or them) in the “Other” line. Same goes for all the other polls.

This one is because I’ve been having so much fun creating the Lucky Pots (truly one-of-a-kind colors), that I’ve been considering dyeing mostly these for MDSW, in both smaller lots and sweater quantities. Lucky Pots in tonal solids as well as the subtle speckles I’ve been having so much fun with. What do you think?

And finally …

Anything else you’d like me to know that’s not included above? Just reply to this post!

Also, an aside: I have been feeling so bummed about not posting here the last couple of weeks! It’s mainly because I’ve been so busy with clubs, MDSW, writing up new designs, and some other work. I haven’t had a whole lot of color inspiration photos to share, either, because I’ve been having fun playing with dye in a more random way with the Lucky Pots. But, I have quite a bit to share so I’ll be back sooner this time!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions for MDSW and beyond! xo

Oh! One final note: I am getting ready to choose a photo for the March Subscriber Inspiration colorway! If you’re a newsletter subscriber and want to send me a photo you love, email me at And if you’re not yet a subscriber but want to play along, click on the newsletter subscription tab up at the top right of this blog, subscribe and then send me a photo. I can’t wait to start on March’s yarn, scheduled for next week! (the person who sends me the photo IΒ chooseΒ gets a free skein of his or her special colorway πŸ™‚ ).

  1. I always gravitate to blues and purples- I really need to be pushed into a wider color zone- maybe something to contrast with my blues and purples?

  2. You have such a “feel” for color, the tonals and variegates are always awesome. I just dream of attending one of the big American Fiber Festivals, it would be surreal to be able to see and touch all the colors and bases. (Ravelry ID: stitchalong)

    • Thanks! I just updated the post so hopefully everyone will leave me a comment, since PollDaddy doesn’t seem to be set up right (probably my bad, argh).

  4. Hey Jen, I answered the poll but didn’t see an obvious way to give you contact info other than posting here. It’s Wendy J, mathiemom on Ravelry. Pretty sure you know where to find me. πŸ˜‰

    • hmmm. thanks! I’m always a bit flummoxed by PollDaddy … hopefully I’ll be able to tell! But, got it for you πŸ˜€

  5. I bought Iron Butterfly last year on Brigantia and loved it. I wear the shawl all the time that I used it with the Atlantis I ordered via email. Your booth was my favorite at MDSW! Can’t wait to see again. I keep saying I am going to knit a sweater so I would love some sort of sweater sets.
